Recently, I’ve had a few friends ask me where I recommend them to order sushi from, and up until last week, I genuinely didn’t have a good answer. I’m not the biggest Sugarfish fan (sorry!), and a lot of the restaurants that I love going to to eat sushi at do not maintain the same quality with their takeout. But! Last week, I visited one of the places that has been on my list: Saijo Hand Roll in Culver City. And now I have an answer to that question.
I was genuinely blown away by how good Saijo was. I ordered many things on the menu, including the beef skewers, which were both amazing and reminded me of ones I had in Japan. I also got a lot of their hand rolls, which were so delicious. The spicy tuna handroll was out of this world good. And if you are a Nobu fan like myself, and have to order the yellowtail jalapeño, they have a yellowtail sashimi that tastes EXACTLY the same for $22 less.
I’m gonna be honest… I’m pretty sensitive about odors in restaurants. Which is why I actually highly recommend ordering takeout versus dining in.
